The Lions finished the game with twelve total hits to the Crimsons, zero hits. The rest of the game was all defense as the Lions would not allow a hit or run and the Crimson would allow a few more hits before the mercy rule would apply in the middle of the fifth inning. Still in the bottom of the second, Alyssa Daniell nailed another RBI single for the Lions, allowing Blair to net another run to make the score, 10-0. Which was immediately followed up by another amazing hit by Sofowora, who hit an RBI single up the middle. Goergia Blair would then hit an RBI single to center field herself, bringing in Peyton Angulo. In the bottom of the second, the Lions were determined to bring more energy, Arianna Jaurequi would hit an RBI single to centerfield, allowing Morgan DeBord to score for the Lions. Later in the same inning, Jasmine Sofowora would hit her first home run of the season, as she compiled 3 RBIs to increase the lead for the Lions, 6-0. Peyton Angulo started the Lions off, bombing a 3 RBI home run to right center field, giving the Lions a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Game 1 between the Lions was a landslide, as the Lions were able to force the eight-run mercy rule in five innings, while also pitching a no hitter. These two wins, ties the record for fifth most consecutive wins in program history. LOS ANGELES– The Loyola Marymount University softball team (19-10) defeated the Harvard Crimson, 10-0, in game 1 with a no hitter performance and then sealed the sweep with another win, 10-2, to improve to 21-10 on the season.
